WESSON — Jonathan Grace pitched a 2-hitter and his Wessonteammates gave him plenty of run support Saturday in a 12-1trouncing of the West Lincoln Bears. Grace, a sophomorerighthander, fanned 7 batters and walked none, hitting 1 batter andallowing 2 hits.

At the plate, designated hitter Joseph Decker doubled twice forWesson. Grace, Daniel Watson, Corey Puckett, and Brandt Hooddoubled. Shortstop Micah Davis, leftfielder Corey Puckett,centerfielder Daniel Watson each had 2 hits for the Cobras.Collecting singles were Mason Warren and Chris Fink.

Shane Lynch doubled and Matt Bowman singled for WestLincoln.

On the mound, Lynch walked 2 and hit 2 batters. He didn’t haveany strikeouts.

The Cobras (6-1) resume play Monday at Bude, meeting theFranklin County Bulldogs. Game time is 11 a.m.

In the JV game, Wesson defeated West Lincoln8-3 in 4.5 innings. Caleb Broome pitched the win.
