James Lovey Arnold

Services for James Lovey Arnold, of Meadville, were Saturday,March 25, at Sarepta Baptist Church in Franklin County with burialin the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville was incharge of arrangements.

Mr. Arnold, 83, died March 23, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Sept. 18, 1922, to Chrisman H. Arnold andAda Delaney Arnold.

He was a driller with Delta Marine Drilling Company and afarmer. He was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church in FranklinCounty. He was a veteran of the Army and served during World WarII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, BessieBankston Arnold; his brothers, Bluford Arnold, Bill Arnold, CordellArnold, Corban Arnold and C.H. Arnold; and his sister, LottiePrather.

Survivors are his daughters, Peggy McLemore, of Port Gibson,Cathy Clark, of Laurel, Barbara Pickle, of Clinton, CherylEmfinger, of Brookhaven, and Kim Richards, of Bartlett, Tenn.; hisbrother, Buster Arnold, of Meadville; his sister, Ruby LeeEmfinger, of Franklin, La.; and his grandchildren, BethanyMcLemore, Meredith McLemore, Sam McLemore, Lori Johnson, AllieClark, James Pickle, Joseph Pickle, Kayla Emfinger and AmandaEmfinger.

Eva Mae ‘Little Hun’ Byrd

Services for Eva Mae “Little Hun” Byrd, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Mt. Wade M.B. Church in Brookhavenwith burial in Siloam Church Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, withfamily present from 6 to 7.

Ms. Byrd, 68, died March 20, 2006, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. She was born on May 4, 1937, to Elton Byrd and PinkieByrd.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Wade M.B.Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, ErnestByrd and Willie “Son” Byrd; and her sister, Jesse Bee Bowman.

Survivors are her son, Lonny Byrd, of Brookhaven; her brother,Rufus Byrd, of Baton Rouge, La.; her sisters, Margaret Harris, ofBrookhaven, Nellie Sylvester, of San Francisco, Calif., and AnnieFairman, of Las Vegas, Nev.; her four grandchildren; and manynieces, nephews and other relatives.
