Hugh Brister

Services for Hugh Brister, of Jayess, are 2 p.m. Monday, April10, at Tilton United Methodist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m., and Monday from noon until2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Brister, 81, died April 7, 2006, at his home in Jayess. Hewas born in Mississippi on August 24, 1924, to Hulon D. Brister andFlora Sistrunk Brister.

He was a former oil field worker for 20 years and a farmer. Hewas retired from the Mississippi Motor Vehicle Department. He was amember of Tilton United Methodist Church. He was also a veteran ofthe Marine Corp. with service in World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, PatriciaCaul; his sisters, Edith Brister, Myrtle Brister, Ethel Lambert,Cecil Speights and Florine Lawrence; his brothers, Howard Brister,Cub Brister, and Everett Brister; his son-in-law, Mack Mitchell;and his great-grandson, Ty Brister.

Survivors are his wife, Juda Pat Brister, of Jayess; his sons,Tony Brister and his wife, Joy, Doug Brister and his wife, Dawn,and Sandy Brister and his wife, Kim, all of Jayess; his daughter,Karen Mitchell, of Jayess; his sister, Aline Blackwell, of Jayess;his grandchildren, Mitch Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell, Mark Brister,Jason Brister, Will Brister, Hunter Brister, Milly Hancock, SusanGuess, Lisa Sartin, Bridget Case, Tedra Brister, Brandy Brister andCharity Nace; his great-grandchildren, Alexis Mitchell, CamrynMitchell, Brooke Nelson, Shelby Mitchell, Hayze Hancock, TannerHancock, Dylan Hancock, Kylee Hancock, Kristen Guess, Carmen Guess,Diana Brister, Allie Brister, Kyle Brister, Jasee Brister, ZackVincelli, Laken Nace, Peyton Nace, Jadan Vincelli; and hisgreat-great-grandchild, Taylor Daughdrill.

Ralph Daniel Green

Graveside services for Ralph Daniel Green, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. today, April 9, at Riverwood Memorial Park. Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Green, 91, died April 7, 2006, at his home. He was born inTwo Egg, Fla., on September 13, 1914.

He was an electrician. He owned and operated Brookhaven Electricand later Brookhaven Automatic, a vending machine company. Hebecame a member of the Exchange Club and initiated the idea ofputting out the flags.

Survivors are his wife of 36 years, Brenda Childress Green, ofBrookhaven; his sister, Margie Burns, of Orange, Texas; hisbrother-in-law, Nolan Bowman, of Brookhaven; his niece, CindyTownsend, of Brookhaven, and his nephews, Greg Bowman and SteveBowman, both of Brookhaven.

Larkin Moak

Services for Larkin Moak, of Bogue Chitto, are 4 p.m. Monday,April 10, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Larkin, 93, died April 8, 2006, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onDec. 8, 1912, to Jake “J.E.” Moak and Lucy Moak.

He was retired from South Central Bell, where he had beenemployed for 35 years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church wherehe was a deacon and served as a Sunday school teacher and treasurerfor several years. He was also a member of the Bogue Chitto MasonicLodge, where he served as secretary.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Ruby PoseyMoak; and his sisters, Evelyn Reeves, Jimmie Stringfellow and KatieRuth Cowart.

Survivors are his son, Richard Moak and his wife, Mary Ann, ofQuitman La.; his daughter, Pat Fortenberry and her husband,Charles, of Fayetteville, N.C.; his brothers, Sherman Moak, ofBogue Chitto, J.E. Moak, of Moultrie, Ga., and Joe Moak, of Luling,Texas; his grandchildren, Pam Slate and her husband, Chad, ofWilmington, N.C., Craig Fortenberry, of Wilmington, Steven Moak, ofQuitman, and Cindy Pardue and her husband, David Ray, of Chatham,La.; and his great-grandchildren, Jacob Venditti, Kate Ann Vendittiand Dillon Pardue.

Services for Jimmy Randall Waldrop Jr., of Ruth, are 2:30 p.m.Tuesday, April 10, at Community Funeral Services Chapel with burialin Bethel Temple Cemetery.

Mr. Waldrop, 28, died April 7, 2006, in an automobile accidentin Ruth. He was born on June 21, 1977, to Jimmy Randall Waldrop Sr.and Mary Jean Waldrop.

He was a painter with A&Z Painting.

Survivors are his parents; his son, Zachery Wayne Paul Waldrop,of Ruth; his daughters; Kelsey Lane Waldrop and Kristen NicoleWaldrop, both of Ruth; his children’s mother, Misty Prather, ofRuth; his brother, Joey D. James ‘Jim’ Walter Storey

Graveside services for James “Jim” Walter Storey, of Brookhaven,are 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at New Sight Cemetery. CommunityFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Storey, 79, died April 8, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on July 3, 1926, to Walter Wren Storey andMyrtis Foster Storey.

He was a mechanical engineer. He was a member of New SightBaptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher. He was agraduate of Louisiana State University School of Engineering. Hewas also a veteran of the Navy with service in World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, InezColeman; and his brother, Ed Storey.

Survivors are his wife, Byrd Baird Storey, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Mary Ann Brennan, of Vicksburg; his sisters, Bess Gruchy,of Florida, and Sue Weems, of Texas; his brothers, Albert Storey,of Gautier, and Charlton Storey, of Florida; and his sister-in-law,Mary Ann Baird.
