Services for Cecil Barner were held at Tabernacle of PraiseChurch in Jackson with burial in Garden Memorial Park Cemetery inJackson. Westhaven Funeral Home wass in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Barner, 59, died March 27, 2006. He was born on Oct. 19,1946, to Orange and Zadie Barner.

He graduated from Parrish High School and attended Alcorn StateUniversity. He was employed by General Electric and later, theHolmes County School District, as a teacher. He was ordained as aminister in 2000.

Preceding him in death were his father and his daughter.

Survivors are his mother; his wife of 33 years, Lorraine Barner;his daughter, Sonya Deniece; his sisters, Alene Hicks, of Chicago,Ill., Maxine McGee, of Sontag, Mary Barner, of Wesson, CharleneFranklin, of Hawthorne, Calif.; his brothers, James Barner, ofIndianola, Ben Barner, of Wesson, and Shelly Barner.
