With the arrival of spring comes the desire for many to cleanout closets and other storage areas and to get rid of items thatare no longer needed or wanted.

Keep Lincoln County Beautiful again this year is helping inthose efforts by providing a responsible way for citizens to dotheir spring cleaning.

On weekends this month and the first weekend in May, a bin isbeing placed in communities for residents to leave furniture, whitegoods, garbage and other items. Hazardous material may not be putin the bins.

The bin is in Bogue Chitto this weekend, in the Hurricane Lakearea next weekend, on Monticello just outside the city on April27-May 1 and on California Road at James Case’s store May 4-8.

The bin plan is a wonderful alternative to leaving those itemson roadsides and in ditches, where they will become eyesores anddetract from the community’s appearance. KLCB should be commendedfor organizing the effort and residents should take advantage ofthe garbage disposal opportunity.
