Jamari Jashun Baker
Graveside services for Jamari Jashun Baker, of Brookhaven, are11 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Carver Heights Cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Infant Baker, 7 weeks old, died April 17, 2006, at King’sDaughters Medical Center. He was born on Feb. 23, 2006, to JohnWilkerson Jr. and LaKeshia Baker, both of Brookhaven.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert EarlBaker.
Survivors are his parents; his brothers, Jordan Baker, ofBrookhaven, Jontez Wilkerson, of Tylertown, and JontaviousWilkerson, of Brookhaven; his sister, Angel J. Wilkerson, ofBrookhaven; his maternal grandparents, Cynthia Price and WilliamPrice, of Wesson; his paternal grandparents, Nancy Lea, ofBrookhaven, and John H. Wilkerson Sr., of Amite County; hisgreat-grandmother, Hallie B. Baker, of Brookhaven; his aunts,Lavatrice Franklin, of Brookhaven, Shaqueena Price and MaryannaPrice, both of Wesson, Asia Baker, of Lake, Tanya Price, ofChampaign, Ill.; his uncles, Jason Markham and Maceo Franklin, bothof Brookhaven; special friends, Candice Richardson, of Sontag, andMichelle Childs, of Brookhaven; and many other relatives.
Ricky Lavell Dalton
Services for Ricky Lavell Dalton, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, April 22, at New Zion Union M.B. Church in Bogue Chittowith burial in New Zion-Norfield Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, withthe family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Dalton, 39, died April 13, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Aug. 18, 1966, to Louis “Bo” Dalton Sr. andJuanita “Peggy” Dalton.
He was disabled. He was a 1985 honor graduate of Bogue ChittoHigh School. He was a member of Avery Chapel AME Church, where hewas a member of the male choir and served with the Sons ofAllens.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents; his father; hissister, Shirley Harris; and his brother-in-law, Richard G.Kelly.
Survivors are his mother; his wife, Dianne Dalton, ofBrookhaven; his daughter, Konawv Smith, of Brookhaven; hisstepdaughter, Kimberly Henry, of Summit; his brothers, Louis Daltonand wife Betty, of Savoy, Ill., Lamar Dalton, of Brookhaven, MarvinDalton, of Las Vegas, Nev., Kenny Ray Dalton and wife Liz, ofMcComb, and Roger Dalton and wife, Kim, of Bogue Chitto; hissisters, Mary E. Hall and husband Johnny, of Bogue Chitto, andSharon Jackson and husband Charlie, of Brookhaven; his threegrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.
Henry ‘Lightening’ Lomax
Services for Henry “Lightening” Lomax, of Hazlehurst, are 11a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Antioch M.B. Church in Hazlehurst withburial in Pleasant Grove M.B. Church Cemetery. Coleman-LomaxFuneral Home in Crystal Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 12 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, witha wake from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mr. Lomax, 81, died April 16, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn in Copiah County on Aug. 22, 1924, to Joe Lomax and JessieHill Lomax.
He was a a licensed funeral director and owner of Coleman-LomaxFuneral Home. He was a member of the King David Masonic Lodge #6.He was a member of Antioch M.B. Church Board of Trustees.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his three wives,Sarah Dixon, Earlean Lomax and Shirley Lomax.
Survivors are his daughters, Cynthia Tobias, Sandra Wilkes,Rhonda Lomax, Shirley Crain, Barbara Stinson, Paula Dugger andCynthia McMillian; his brothers, Joe Lomax Jr., Willie Lomax andJessie Lewis Williams; his sisters, Margie Field and Bobbie Wilson;his 10 grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; and a host ofnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Shirley P. Smith
Services for Shirley P. Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Thursday, April 20, at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial inFriendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Smith, 69, died April 18, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on July 12, 1936, to Edward L. Smith andBertha Smith Smith.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Friendship BaptistChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, TrulySmith.
Survivors are her sons, Mike Tanner and wife Nancy, ofBrookhaven, and Henry E. “Bo” Tanner and wife Sherry, of Meadville;her daughter, Linda Sandifer and husband Wardale, of McComb; herbrothers, Jimmy Smith, of Brookhaven, Tommy Smith, of Pearl, andCarl Smith, of Bogue Chitto; her sisters, Ann Oliver and PeggyBritt, both of Brookhaven; her eight grandchildren and sixgreat-grandchildren.
