Services for Annette Clanton, of Meadville, are 10 a.m.Saturday, April 22, at First Baptist Church of Bude with burial inSarepta Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County. FranklinFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 to 10 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Clanton, 67, died April 19, 2006, at Franklin MemorialHospital in Meadville. She was born on May 6, 1939, to BenoitPrather and Lottie Arnold Prather.

She was a retired supervisor with the Department of HumanServices for Franklin County. She was a member of First BaptistChurch of Bude.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her son.

Survivors are her husband, Oscar Clanton, of Meadville; hersons, Brian Clanton, of Meadville, Bruce Clanton, of Brookhaven,and Mickey Clanton, of Meadville; her brother, Bob Prather, ofJefferson County; her sister, Janette Cooper, of Meadville; and hersix grandchildren.

Judy M. Dykes

Services for Judy M. Dykes, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Monday,April 24, at Mt. Wade M.B. Church with burial in Carver HeightsCemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, withfamily present from 5 to 6 p.m.

Ms. Dykes, 65, died April 18, 2006, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born on Jan. 6, 1941, to TyreeMcBeth Sr. and Lela Blue McBeth.

She was a graduate of Jackson State University. She was aretired educator from Brookhaven Public Schools. She was a memberof Jackson State University Alumni Club and the Bertha L. JohnsonLiterary Club. She was a member of Mt. Wade M.B. Church inBrookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, TyreeMcBeth Jr; and her sisters, Marie Henderson, Nadine McBeth White,Theresa McBeth Huff, Eloise McBeth and Irma McBeth Peyton.

Survivors are her daughter, Tracey Robinson, of Bogue Chitto;her brothers, Frank McBeth, of Brookhaven, and Isaiah Bracy, ofChicago, Ill.; her sister, Betty Spiller, of Brookhaven; and hertwo grandchildren.

Marilyn Perkins Harris

Marilyn Perkins Harris, 74, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, atthe Jackson Baptist Hospital. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer inBrookhaven, with the Memorial Service following at noon andafterwards internment at the Rosehill Cemetery. Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Marilyn Harris was born March 15, 1932, in Brookhaven, thedaughter of Thomas H. and Clara Whittington Perkins. She marriedJames W. Harris in February 1951.

Marilyn was very active in the arts community. Her interest inart began during her college years at Belmont College and theUniversity of Mississippi. Later she studied under master artiststhroughout the nation and attended numerous workshops in Mexico,including Mississippi’s Marie Hull,

While living in Jackson, she became involved in the MississippiMuseum of Art (MMA). She also became the first president of the MMAAuxiliary, served as intern-director from 1974 to 1985, and wasvoted MMA’s 1984 Volunteer of the Year. Additionally, she was thebuyer for the MMA gift shop and served as its manager in 1980.Marilyn and her husband, James, were charter members of theRembrandt Society (major donors for the MMA). She also served aspresident of the MMA Gallery Guild from 1990 to 1991.

Marilyn was active in Northminister Baptist Church, RiverhillsCountry Club, Jackson Country Club, and The LeFleur Garden Clubwhile she lived in Jackson.

After her husband died in 1993, Marilyn returned to Brookhaven.She then opened an antiques business, Marilyn P. Harris Interiors,and hosted numerous art shows for local and statewide artists.

She was active in the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, ArtsCouncil of the Brookhaven Trust, the Climbers Club and the WildwoodGarden Club. She was a founding Board Director for the MississippiSchool of the Arts in Brookhaven and a charter member in itscreation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hayes Perkinsand Clara Whittington Perkins; her husband, James W. Harris; hersister, Hortense Perkins Prater; and her brother, Thomas PerkinsIII.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, James Harris, of Houston,Texas, Stephen Harris, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and MichaelHarris, of Brookhaven; her brother, William Perkins, of Brookhaven;and four granddaughters, Kristin Harris, Lauren Harris, StephanieHarris and Chloe Harris.

Clara E. Head

Services for Clara E. Head, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Saturday,April 22, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial inEasthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Head, 96, died April 20, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn on Nov. 16, 1909, to Allen Ezell and Lonia Laird.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of North View BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, George E.Laird; her sons, Roy and Troy Laird; her daughters, KatherineThompson Thompson and La Nell Laird.

Survivors are her daughters, Glenda Dawson, of Brookhaven,Nellie Cato, of Missouri, and Clara Long, of Brookhaven; her 15grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 14great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Lee Kelly Sr.

Services for Robert Lee Kelly Sr., of Springfield, Mass.,formerly of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, at HarrellFuneral Home in Springfield. Williams Mortuary provided theinformation.

Mr. Kelly, 65, died April 17, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn on Feb. 19, 1941, to Versie Kelly Sr. and Addie Kelly.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brothers, R.C.Kelly and Tyree Kelly.

Survivors are his wife, Pam Kelly, of Springfield; his son,Robert Lee Kelly Jr., of Springfield; his sisters, Virgie MaeClark, of Brookhaven, and Geraldine Kelly, of Springfield; hisbrothers, J.C. Tammie Tameka McDonald

Services for Tammie Tameka McDonald, of Bude, are 2 p.m. Sunday,April 23, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Kirby with burial inMcGhee Burnett Cemetery in Eddiceton. Marshall Funeral Home in Budeis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at the funeral home,with wake service from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Sunday at the churchfrom 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Ms. McDonald, 30, died April 18, 2006, at Natchez CommunityHospital. She was born in Jackson on Oct. 29, 1975, to Mary DelorisMcDonald.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, RosielenaMoore.

Survivors are her mother; her sister, Rosemary McWee, of McCallCreek; her brother, Christopher McDonald, of North Carolina; hergrandfather, Forrest Moore, of Bude; her great-grandmother, BerthaHickingbottom; her nephew, aunts, uncles and other relatives andfriends.
