Services for the Rev. Thomas Hollowell, of Caledonia, are 10a.m. Monday, May 8, at Wesley United Methodist Church with burialin Yellowleaf Cemetery. Gunter and Peel Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.
Visitation is today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rev. Hollowell, 63, died May 5, 2006 at his home. He was born inLafayette County on August 29, 1942, to John Renard Hollowell andEmma Lee Parker Hollowell.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was agraduate of University High School of Oxford, Mississippi StateUniversity, and New Orleans Seminary. He was a united methodistminister pasturing churches in Mississippi. He was an associatepastor of First United Methodist Church of Picayune and pastor ofFranklin UMC of Laurel, First UMC of Lexington, Lewis Memorial UMCof Calhoun City, First UMC of Greenville, and First UMC ofBrookhaven. Rev. Hollowell also was past president of theGreenville and Brookhaven Ministerial Associations. He was alsopast president of the Brookhaven District Board of Ministry and apast member of the MS Conference (United Methodist Church) Board ofMinistry.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, JamesHoward Howell.
Survivors are his wife, Linda B. Hollowell, of Caledonia; hissons, Douglas Alan Hollowell and his wife, Casey, of Little Elm,Texas, and Mark Richard Freeman and his wife, Tara, of DallasTexas; his daughters, Dawn Allison Thomas, of West Point, and LynnAllison Youngblood and her husband, Greg; his sister, ShirleyHollowell Holmes, of Oxford; and seven grandchildren.
