Services for Hillary Anthony Portier Sr., of Albany, La., are 11a.m. Thursday, May 18, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Albanywith entombment in the church cemetery. Geisler Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 6 to 10 p.m., and on Thursday from8:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Portier, 77, died May 14, 2006, at his residence.

He was a native of Bourg, La., and a retired diesel mechanic inthe old field industry. He was a member of St. Margaret CatholicChurch and the American Legion Post #258. He was Navy veteran ofWorld War II.

Preceding him in death were his son, Michael J. Portier Sr.; hisbrother, Adrian Portier; and his sisters, Zillah Paolini and ThelmaHymel.

Survivors are his wife, Georgia Johnson Portier; his sons,Charles R. Portier, of Baton Rouge, La., and Guy A. Portier andHillary “HAP” A. Portier Jr., both of Albany; his daughters,Catherine P. Konieczka, of Springfield, La., and Amanda P. LeBouef,of Albany; his 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
