Services for F.M. Oglesby Sr., of Meadville, are 10 a.m. Friday,May 19, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in MidwayCemetery in Meadville.

Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, and onFriday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. Oglesby, 82, died May 16, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn in Franklin County on Jan. 2, 1924, to George Oglesby and EllaCloy Oglesby.

He was retired from the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co., after 40years of service. He served as treasurer for the Local 303 Unionfor 26 years. He served for 13 years as election commissioner forDistrict Two in Franklin County. He was an Army veteran of WorldWar II. He was a member of Meadville Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his seven brothers; histhree sisters; and one grandson, Andy Oglesby.

Survivors are his wife, Louise Wallace Oglesby, of Meadville;his son, F.M. Oglesby Jr., and wife Cathy, of Baton Rouge, La.; andhis daughter, Beverly Oglesby, of Meadville.
