Memorial services for Alice Kaiser Smith, of Natchez, were 3p.m. Saturday, June 3, at Jefferson Street United Methodist Churchin Natchez with burial in Natchez City Cemetery. Laird Funeral Homewas in charge of arrangements. The Revs. James Earl Herndon andFaye Junkin Hudnall officiated.

Mrs. Smith, 103, was born in Natchez, on Dec. 23, 1902, toWilliam Joseph Kaiser and Clara Rawes Kaiser.

She was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, traveling, bridge andgardening, and was a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club. She wasan active member of of Jefferson Street Methodist Church, where shewas president of the United Methodist Women and taught Sundayschool for many years. She was a graduate of Natchez Institute andattended what is now Mississippi University for Women inColumbus.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, FrankLevon Smith; her son, Frank Levon Smith Jr., of Natchez; ason-in-law, John Evan Wimberly, of Pensacola, Fla.; her sisters,Clara Belle Kaiser Junkin and Maude Kaiser of Natchez; and herbrothers, Leslie Kaiser, Harold Kaiser, Marion Kaiser, AlbertKaiser and Frank Kaiser, all of Natchez.

Survivors are her son, William Marion Smith and his wife,Carolyn Vance Smith, of Natchez; her daughter, Clara SmithWimberly, of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth SandelSmith, of Natchez; her grandchildren, Linda Smith Bailey and herhusband Thomas Bailey, William Key Smith and his wife AugustaSmith, Frank Levon “Hank” Smith III and his wife Jackie Smith,Pamela Smith Harriss and her husband Richard Harriss III, RobertLouis Smith and his wife Jennifer Smith, all of Natchez; ElizabethSmith Sauve and her husband Thomas Sauve, of Alexandria, La., EmilySmith Henderson and her husband Carlisle Henderson, of Brookhaven,William Marion Smith Jr., of New Orleans, La., John Evan WimberlyJr. and his wife Mecy Wimberly, of Pensacola, Laura Alice WimberlyBell, of Pensacola, David Lawrence Wimberly and his wife LanaeWimberly, of Atlanta, Ga.; her 24 great-grandchildren; her fivegreat-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews andother relatives.

Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Bailey, William Key Smith,Frank Levon “Hank” Smith III, Richard Harriss III, Robert LouisSmith, Thomas Sauve, Carlisle Henderson, William Marion Smith Jr.,John Evan Wimberly Jr., and David Lawrence Wimberly.
