Services for Hallie Mae Smith Lea, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Sunday, June 4, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in New Salem Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Lea, 99, died May 31, 2006, at her residence. She was bornon Oct. 24, 1906, to Johnson C. Smith and Mary McGee Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Salem Church ofChrist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ShereardW. Lea; her grandson, Jeffrey B. Johnson; her brothers, Claude,Clyde, Percy, Clark and Thomas Smith; and her sister, EstelleHardin.

Survivors are her son, Wallace Lea and wife LaVetta, of Joplin,Mo.; her daughters, Nan Oestmann and husband Art, of Midland,Texas, and Betty Johnston and husband Bryant, of Brookhaven; herbrothers, Sam V. Smith and C. Denver Smith; her sister, Ina BellMcCoy; and her six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Jeannine Presley Pipkin

Services for Jeannine Presley Pipkin, of Bay Minette, Ala., are2 p.m. Monday, June 5, at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home in BayMinette with burial in Bay Minette Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Pipkin, 76, died June 1, 2006, at Oakwood Nursing Home. Shewas born in McCullough, Ala.

She was a retired teller with the Baldwin County Bank.

Survivors are her husband, Robert L. Pipkin, of Bay Minette; hersons, Roy G. (Stacey) Cain, of Jesup, Ga., and Wayne Cain, ofHammond, La.; her grandson, Presley Nicholls Cain, of Jesup; herand her brothers, James Presley, of Atmore, Ala., Tommy Presley, ofSeminole, Ala., and Glen Presley, of Pensacola, Fla.

Although the family will accept flowers, they suggest memorialcontributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of the South,P.O. Box 9693, Mobile, AL 36691.

Ann Posey

Services for Ann Posey, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Saturday, June3, at Community Funeral Services Chapel with burial in NationsCemetery.

Visitation is today from 4 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Posey, 58, died May 31, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn on Oct. 27, 1947, to Vernon Bardwell and Evelyn RussellBardwell.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her two daughters; hertwo sisters; and her two brothers.

Survivors are her husband, Billy Posey, of Brookhaven; her sons,Wylie Heathcock and Keith Heathcock, both of Brookhaven; herdaughters, Susan Bowman and Angel Mohon, both of Brookhaven; herbrother, Hollis Bardwell, of Texas; her sisters, Mary Owens, ofTennessee, and Virginia Fernandez, of Brookhaven; and her eightgrandchildren.

Helen N. Rawls

Services for Helen N. Rawls, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m. Saturday,June 3, at New Prospect Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial inthe church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Saturday, from 2 until 3 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Rawls, 73, died June 1, 2006, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Franklin County on Dec.4, 1932, to Elmer Sisco and Audrey Temple Sisco.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Prospect BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, CharlesHerman Rawls; her daughters, Melanie Rawls Heard and Sharon GailRawls Wilkins; and her brother, Carroll Sisco.

Survivors are her son, Scott Rawls, of Brookhaven; her daughter,Linda Rawls Franklin and husband Woodie, of Brookhaven; herbrothers, Hollis Sisco, of Sevierville, Tenn., Willie Sisco, ofAtlanta, Ga., and Barney Sisco, of Bogue Chitto; her sisters, JanetLupo and Shirley Calcote, both of Brookhaven; Joyce Brown, of BogueChitto, Patsy Filabum, of Vicksburg, Lexine Freedman, of Las Vegas,Nev., Gloria Schreck, of Orlando, Fla., and Judy Wall, of Clinton;her son-in-law, Clay Wilkins, of Milton, Fla.; and hergrandchildren, Lyndsay Franklin, Madison Franklin and JessicaFranklin, all of Brookhaven, and Marshall Wilkins, of Milton, Fla.;and her church family and a host of friends.

Helen Russell Tindall

Helen Russell Tindall passed away at home on June 1, 2006. Shewas 93. She was the first born to Richmond C. Russell and ZeraBurnham Russell on Jan. 10, 1913, at Mendenhall. In 1931, shegraduated from Magee High School. She attended Mississippi Women’sCollege until she was married to Jack E. Tindall on Aug. 1, 1932.She then joined him at Ole Miss and then to Atlanta where heattended Atlanta Southern Dental College for four years.

She came to Brookhaven in August 1937 with her husband when heset up his dental practice. In February 1938, she gave birth totheir only child Ronald E. Tindall.

In December 1940, her husband Jack was called to active duty inthe Army Reserve. They were stationed in Atlanta at Ft. McPherson,the 4th Service Command Headquarters, for the next five years.

In the fall of 1945, she returned to Brookhaven with her husbandand son, where she has lived ever since.

During the ensuing years, she was an active housewife. Shetaught Sunday school at First Baptist Church, as did her husband.She was hostess to many dinner parties and bridge clubs. At onetime she was president of Mississippi Dental Association Women’sAuxiliary.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.C.Russell, of Magee.

She is survived by her husband, Jack E. Tindall; her son, RonnyTindall, of Virginia; her sister, Lanelle “Tootsie” Edmonson, ofMagee; eight nephews, George Edmonson, of Brookhaven, RichardEdmonson, of Jackson, Ben Edmonson, of Jacksonville, Fla., GeorgeT. Tindall, James E. Tindall, of Alpharetta, Ga., David Morgan, ofDallas, Ed Morgan, of Jackson, and David Hall, of Brookhaven; herfour nieces, Jo (Tindall) Windham, Mary George (Watkins) McMullan,of Hattiesburg, Mary (Morgan) Wallace, of Jackson, and Karen (Hall)Harveston, of Brookhaven.

Visitation will be Friday, from 5 until 9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at thechapel of Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in Riverwood Cemeteryin Brookhaven.
