Johnnie Lee Cothren

Services for Johnnie Lee Cothren, of Meadville, are 10 a.m.Thursday, June 15, at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church inFranklin County with burial in the church cemetery. FranklinFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Cothren, 81, died June 13, 2006, at Franklin CountyMemorial Hospital. She was born in Amite County on Dec. 20, 1924,to Cayce Wilkinson and Mollie Raner Wilkinson.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pilgrims Rest PrimitiveBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HubertCothren; her sister, Aline Heatherly; and her brother, James AllenWilkinson.

Survivors are her daughters, Sharon Alvarez and Mary JeanCothren, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brother TysonWilkinson, of Sullivan City; and her two grandchildren and threegreat-grandchildren.

Elmore R. Smith

Services for Elmore R. Smith, of Hattiesburg, are 10 a.m.Thursday, June 15, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Hattiesburg withburial in Rawls Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 78, died June 11, 2006, at Wesley Medical Center.

He worked in construction as a cement finisher for 50 years, andretired in 2005. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Joyce Marie Smith.

Survivors are his son, James Paul Smith, of Jackson; hisbrother, Edward Smith, of Brookhaven; his seven grandchildren andthree great-grandchildren.
