Services for Myrtis Case Smith, of Hammond, La., were 11 a.m.today, June 15, at New Salem Church of Christ in Brookhaven withburial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service isin charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Smith, 98, died June 12, 2006, at North Oaks MedicalCenter. She was born in Brookhaven on Jan. 23, 1908, to MarshallCase and Lizzie Watts Case.
She was a cashier for 25 years at Woody’s Grocery and atRosenblooms for 20 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ben F.Smith; and her son, Proby Smith.
Survivors are her grandsons, David, Donald and Mark Smith; herbrother, Hoyt Case; her great-grandsons, Lt. Bradley Smith U.S.N.,Ben Smith and Chris Blackwell; her granddaughters, BridgetBlackwell and Lesley Smith; and her great-granddaughters, Lydia andMargaret Smith.
