Services for James Earl Russell, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.today, June 19, at Damascus Baptist Church in Franklin County withburial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was incharge of arrangements.

Mr. Russell, 83, died June 17, 2006, at Silver Cross Home inBrookhaven. He was born in Franklin County on July 27, 1922, toJohn A. Russell and Vadie Lofton Russell.

He was retired after 38 years with International Paper Companyin Natchez. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church, where heserved as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. He wasa Navy veteran and served during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, MargaretLee Russell.

Survivors are his sons, James Randy Russell and wife Mary, DannyM. Russell and wife Dianne, all of Brookhaven; his brothers, WillieSmith, of Arkansas, Oscar Russell, of Biloxi; his grandchildren,Denise Griffin and husband David, of Fulton, John Russell and JoeRussell, both of Brookhaven; and his great-grandchild, DylanGriffin.
