Gerald E. ‘G.E.’ Brister

Services for Gerald E. “G.E.” Brister, of Springfield, Ill.,formerly of Baton Rouge, La., are 10 a.m. Thursday, June 22, atRiverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial in Mt. OliveChurch of Christ Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Brister, 75, died June 17, 2006, at Memorial Medical Centerin Springfield. He was born on Dec. 14, 1930, to Frank Brister andEdna Hyden Brister.

He worked with S.J. Groves Construction Company as a projectmanager, Sangamo-Baker Construction Company, overseas in Haiti as aproject manager overseeing road projects and retired from SussexContractors in Baton Rouge. He was a veteran of the Army, where heserved during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the AnsarShrine in Springfield. He collected Caterpillar diecast models. Hewas a news hound and sports nut. He wrote a book and several songs,and was an extra in the film, “Dead Man Walking.” He formerlybelonged to Operating Engineers Local.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Bobbie RayBrister; and his granddaughter, Christa Nicole Brister.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Brister, of Springfield; hissons and their wives, Bryan and Linda Brister, of St. Charles, Mo.,and Dwayne and Pam Brister, of Denver, Colo.; his daughter and herhusband, Donna and Scott Lawrence, of Springfield; his eightgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and several aunts,uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Franky William Malone

A private memorial service for Franky William Malone, ofBrookhaven, was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19 at RiverwoodFamily Funeral Service Chapel.

Mr. Malone died June 16, 2006, at Countrybrook Living Center.His death was due to injuries sustained in an automobile accidentwhen he was hit while riding his bike. He was a longtime residentof Tarpon Springs, Fla., where he worked as a deep seafisherman.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1953, in Brookhaven, to Felix Malone andMary Maude Henderson Malone.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, JohnnyMalone; his sister, Rita Fay Malone Tolle, of Baton Rouge, La.; andbaby Sara Kay Malone; his maternal grandparents, William DavidHenderson and Fannie Arnold Henderson, of Lucien.

Survivors are his sisters, Mary Ann Smith Beggs and husbandHugh, of Franklin County, Sue Smith and husband Raymond, ofJackson, and Ethel Malone, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and numerousnieces and nephews.

Shannon Holifield Pell

Services for Shannon Holifield Pell, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m.today, June 20, at First Church of the Nazarene in Brookhaven withburial in Wesson City Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service isin charge of arrangements.

Visitation was today from 8 a.m. until noon, at Riverwood; andfrom 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Mrs. Pell, 33, died June 16, 2006, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital. She was born on Oct. 7, 1972, to Lomax Holifieldand Ann Case.

She was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her fathers, Lomax Holifield andJ.H. Case.

Survivors are her mother, Ann Case, of Brookhaven; her husband,William Pell, of Brookhaven; her sons, Damian Pell and JoshuaHolifield, both of Brookhaven, and Christopher Gram, of Utica; herdaughter, Blakley Lambert, of Brookhaven; her brothers, ThomasHolifield, of Brookhaven, Woody Holifield, of Hawaii, and JamesCase, of Jackson; her sisters, Gina Ann Covington, of Wesson, ElisaThorpe, of Brookhaven, and Sissy Case, of Vicksburg.

Peggy Moak Seago

Services for Peggy Moak Seago, of Bogue Chitto, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, June 21, at Jones Family Funeral Services Chapel inMcComb with burial in Hollywood Cemetery. The Rev. AnthonyYarborough will officiate services.

Visitation is today from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Mrs. Seago, 75, died June 18, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Bogue Chitto on Sept. 11, 1930, to Ted andErma Moak.

She was a homemaker, and a devoted mother, grandmother andgreat-grandmother. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JamesClayton Seago; her granddaughters, Christine Denise, Linda Michelleand Miranda Seago.

Survivors are her sons, Jimmy Randall Seago and wife Ricki Jean,of McComb, Jerry Micheal Seago, Joey Ronald Seago, Sammy KeithSeago and Carol Bruce Seago, all of Bogue Chitto; her brothers andsisters-in-law, Teddy and Jimmie Moak, of Bogue Chitto, and Rogerand Geraldine Moak, of Summit; her sisters and brothers-in-law,Joann and Gene Thames, and Norma and Shelton Morgan, all ofBrookhaven, and Joyce and Danny Ray Allred, of Bogue Chitto; hergrandchildren and their spouses, Renee Pellissier, of Atlanta, Ga.,Jimmy Randall Seago Jr. and Crystal, and Brandi Seago Deer andJeff, all of McComb, Thomas Clayton and Micheal Justin Seago, ofHattiesburg, Joel Kirk and Debbie Seago, of Summit, Wendy and AlanWheat, of Smithdale, Amanda and Jarrod Hughey, of Meadville, B.J.and Heather Seago, of Bogue Chitto, Loren Seago, of Bogue Chitto,and Shelby Hart, of McComb; her great-grandchildren, WhitneyPellissier, of Atlanta, Taylor Randall Seago, Tyler Ray Seago,Zachary Harold Deer and Christopher Clayton Seago, all of McComb,Carie and Brandon Wheat, of Smithdale, Dave and Alyce Weiss, ofSummit, Kane and Maddie Hughey, of Meadville, Mikaylan and MadisonSeago, and William Strange, all of Bogue Chitto; and numerous otherrelatives and friends.

Ronnie Shay Townsend

Ronnie Shay Townsend, of Brookhaven, died June 19, 2006, at hisresidence. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

He was born on March 4, 1948, to Marcus Leon Townsend Jr., andEva Pearl Miton Townsend.

He was retired from the Air Force.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Strange Townsend; his daughters,Shanna Townsend Rainey, of Petal, and Nicole Townsend Oswalt, ofHattiesburg; his sisters, Shelia Adams, of Lafayette, La., and NonaTrout, of Meadville; and his grandchildren, Colton Rainey and SheaRainey, both of Petal.
