Ross named C-L golf coach

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College Athletic Director GwynYoung has announced that Ronny Ross of Brookhaven has been namedthe college’s new golf coach. Ross replaces Justin Smith who is thehead golf professional at Wolf Hollow Golf Club. Smith will havemore time to devote to activities at Wolf Hollow.
Ross is the PGA professional and general manager of BrookhavenCountry Club. From 1995-2001 Ross served as head golf pro at WolfHollow and Co-Lin’s golf coach. Prior to coming to Wolf Hollow,Ross was assistant golf pro at Oak Harbor Golf Club in Slidell,La.
Ross is a member of the Professional Golf Association of America- Gulf States (Mississippi and Louisiana) Section. He served asvice president and tournament director for all assistant golf pro’sin Mississippi and Louisiana in 1994-95 and is currently vicepresident of the Mississippi Junior Golf Association. He is agraduate of Mississippi State University with a B.S. inmarketing/professional golf management.
He and his wife Elizabeth are the parents of two children Jacob,11 and Olivia, 7.
Ross will hold a Junior Golf Clinic at Wolf Hollow Golf Club onJuly 5-7 for ages 6-12, from 8-11 a.m., and ages 13-18, from 12-3p.m. Registration deadline is Friday, June 30. Cost for the clinicis $75.
