Services for Alvin Harris of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. Saturday,July 1, at Macedonia M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burial in thechurch cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Harris, 54, died June 23, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 5, 1952, to Willie D.Harris and Mildred Summers Harris.
He was a 1970 graduate of Alexander High School. He was a busdriver with Brookhaven Public Schools and a truck driver withBullock’s Gravel. He was a member of Macedonia M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his daughters, Frelicia Harris, of Kalamazoo,Mich., and Casey Harris, of Brookhaven; his sisters, Mamie Thadisonand her husband Robert, of Brookhaven, Dorothy Gray, of Brookhaven,Janet Adams and her husband Pierre, of Atlanta, Ga.; his brothers,Iva Harris and his wife Dorothy, of Brookhaven, James Harris andhis wife Catalina, of Plano, Texas, and his twin brother, CalvinHarris, of Los Angeles, Calif.; his five grandchildren; hisgreat-grandchild, and a host of nieces, a few nephews, otherrelatives and friends.
