Services for Walter Kenneth Johnson of Roxie were 11 a.m. today,June 29, at Roxie First Baptist Church with burial in NationalCemetery in Natchez. Marshall Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Johnson, 53, died June 23, 2006, at University MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in Natchez on Aug. 11, 1952, toWalter Johnson and Elnora Vanderson Johnson.

He was a retired Army veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his grandparents, Joeand Maggie Vanderson, Ollie and Richard Johnson; his sister,Phyllis Vanderson; and his nephew, Terry Graves.

Survivors are his wife, Maria Johnson; his daughter, TommieJohnson; his son, Jeremy Johnson; his sisters, Ernestine Rhodes, ofCalifornia, Starlet Kelly and Robin Simbler, of Michigan, GlendaJohnson Graves, of Mississippi, Bobby Etue and Betty King, ofLouisiana; his brothers, Norse P. Johnson, of Tennessee, EdwardVanderson, Carl Johnson and King Edward Anderson, of Mississippi,and Major Anderson, of California; his two grandchildren; hisuncle, aunt, his godson and a host of nieces, nephews and otherrelatives and friends.
