Jackson sings at M-Braves game on 4th

Local entertainer Kelsey Ann Jackson has been asked to performthe “National Anthem” at the beginning of the Fourth of JulyMississippi Braves baseball game in Pearl.

Jackson, 14, has been performing since the age of 5. She wasasked to perform the anthem for the “Independence Day Celebration”at Trustmark Park.

Organizers of the event have planned special giveaways and apost-game fireworks show double the size of its normal fireworksshows. The Braves game is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.

Jackson, the daughter of Teddy and Jennifer Jackson, has wonseveral local talent shows. She will be a ninth-grade student atBrookhaven Academy this fall. She has traveled and performed invarious places such as Disney World, Nashville, Branson, Mo.,Memphis, Tenn., New York and Atlanta.

Jackson is a member of the R.A.T. Pack (Reject All Tobacco),FOCUS Show Choir, Mississippi Show Stoppers Show Choir andMississippi Girls Choir.

Jackson and other members of her show choir have recentlyreturned from a week in New York at a “boot camp” at the worldfamous “Steps on Broadway.”
