Services for James E. Davis, of Bogue Chitto, were 2 p.m.Saturday, July 1, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRuth Cemetery.

Mr. Davis, 74, died June 29, 2006 at his home. He was born inLawrence County on Dec. 12, 1931, to Marvin Davis and Eula MaeWalker Davis.

He was a retired oil field worker. He was a member of RuthBaptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United StatesArmy.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, AnitaClark; his sisters, Annie Mae Gunnell and Oni Faye Smith.

Survivors are his sons, Jimmy Davis and Marty Davis, both ofRuth; his daughter, Tammy Bradford, of Brookhaven; his brothers,J.M. Davis, of Monticello, Billy Gene Davis, of Brookhaven, AlcusDavis, Richard Davis and Ray Davis, all of Ruth; and his devotedfriend, Rebecca Brown.
