Angelle Quintana Boyd

A memorial service for Angelle Quintana Boyd, of Baton Rouge,La., and a native of McComb, were 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, atAntioch Baptist Church in Monticello.

Boyd, 72, died June 27, 2006, at her residence.

She was a graduate of McComb High School. She was retired fromJ.C. Penney. She loved fishing, reading and watching movies.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and JuanitaQuintana; her brothers, Edmond, Henry and Cameron Quintana; and hersisters, Edwina East, Henrietta Barrass and Bernice McCann.

Survivors are her daughters, Jennie M. Boyd Conyers and husbandMike, of Georgetown, Ky., and Jo Nell Boyd Brister, of Baton Rouge;her sons, Michael D. Boyd and wife Phyllis, of Clinton, and Ed Boydand wife Judy, of Brookhaven; her sisters, Alma Westbrook and AnnBrumfield, both of McComb; her brother, Ben Quintana, of Meridian;her grandchildren, Nathan Boyd, Chelsea Boyd, Cameron Boyd, AllenBoyd, Eric Boyd, Callie Conyers and Cayla Conyers; and her 35nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to theAmerican Diabetes Association, or the charity of your choice.

Billy G. Daniel Sr.

Services for Billy G. Daniel Sr., of Meadville, are 10 a.m.Monday, July 3, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMidway Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 until 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 until10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Daniel, 70, died July 1, 2006 at Franklin Memorial Hospital.He was born on May 5, 1936, to Jessie Daniel and Verlon HardyDaniel.

He was retired from the Mississippi State Highway Department. Hewas a member of Meadville Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his daughter.

Survivors are his son, Billy Daniel Jr., of Meadville; fivegrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James E. Davis

Services for James E. Davis, of Bogue Chitto, were 2 p.m.Saturday, July 1, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRuth Cemetery.

Mr. Davis, 74, died June 29, 2006 at his home. He was born inLawrence County on Dec. 12, 1931, to Marvin Davis and Eula MaeWalker Davis.

He was a retired oil field worker. He was a member of RuthBaptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United StatesArmy.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, AnitaClark; his sisters, Annie Mae Gunnell and Oni Faye Smith.

Survivors are his sons, Jimmy Davis and Marty Davis, both ofRuth; his daughter, Tammy Bradford, of Brookhaven; his brothers,J.M. Davis, of Monticello, Billy Gene Davis, of Brookhaven, AlcusDavis, Richard Davis and Ray Davis, all of Ruth; and his devotedfriend, Rebecca Brown.

Alonzo ‘Lonnie’ Dunhurst

Services for Alonzo “Lonnie” Dunhurst, of Ruth, were 2 p.m.Sunday, July 2, at Alvary United Pentacostal Church with burial inEnon Cemetery in Walthall County. Hartman Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.

Mr. Dunhurst, 52, died June 30, 2006, at his home. He was bornin Picayune on August 21, 1953, to William Dunhurst and EmmaRussell Dunhurst.

He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Alvary UnitedPentacostal Church. He was also a veteran of the United StatesArmy.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his grandson, JoeRutland.

Survivors are his wife, Evon Dunhurst; his stepsons, WindellRonnie Rutland, Joe Rutland, Thomas Rutland, all of Jayess, BraxtonRutland, of Baldwyn, and John Rutland, of Ruth; his stepdaughters,Birdie Temple, Jenette Perry, both of McComb, Glenda Mulberry, ofClinton, and Bonnie Philips, of Tylertown; his stepgrandsons, ScottPhilips, Devin Rutland, Kevin Rutland, Thomas Rutland, MatthewRutland, Tommy Rutland, Dale Rutland, Thomas Rutland, Larry Rutlandand Johnathon Rutland; his stepgranddaughters, Sandra, Felicia,Rhonda, Virginia, Pam, Layle, Marybeth, Angie, Wanda, Misty, Sonya,Tammy, Lisa, Donna, Nicole, Tiffany, Natash, Laronda, Lanita,Cassey, and Crystal Dale; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Jimmy ‘Jay’ M. Horn Jr.

Sgt. Jimmy “Jay” M. Horn Jr., died June 18, 2006, at Universityof California Medical Center in Orange, Calif.

Sgt. Horn, 25, was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 22, 1980. Hegraduated from Denham Springs High School in 1998. At the age of17, he joined the Marine Corps. He was assigned to the 2ndBattalion, 5th Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Aveteran of one tour of duty in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and twotours of duty in Iraq, Horn also served tours in Japan, Guam, thePhilippine Islands, Thailand and South Korea.

A military service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 30, atRiverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif. He was recognizedwith full Military Honors. A memorial service will be held at 2p.m. Sunday, July 2 at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wesson.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Gaye Miller,and his great-grandmother, Nora Mae Welter Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Megan Horn of Ladera Ranch, Calif.;his mother and stepfather, Gina and Eddie Pettis of Vicksburg; hisfather and stepmother, Jimmy and Misse Horn of Houston, Texas; hissisters, Kelli Green and Jessica Pettis, both of Vicksburg, andKortney Horn of Mamou, La.; his brother; Eddie Pettis, ofLafayette, Ind.; his nephew, Brayden Green; his nieces; Reese Greenand Elizabeth Curry; his grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller,of Wesson, and Margaret Collins, Virgie Nevels, William Horn all ofVicksburg, and Daniel Hoffpauir of Mamou; his lifelong friend BradTonquis, of Denham Springs; and numerous aunts, uncles andcousins.

Nellie Grace Wallace Sasser

Services for Nellie Grace Wallace Sasser, of Bogue Chitto, are11 a.m. Monday, July 3, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapelwith burial in Bogue Chitto Cemetery.

Mrs. Sasser, 87, died June 30, 2006 at her home. She was born onJune 13, 1919, to Edward Eugene Wallace and Rubye Mae McFaddenWallace.

She was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church, Chloe Holt DARand the Bogue Chitto Cemetery Association.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WilliamHowell Sasser; her brother, Maxie Wallace; her sister, Ann Brown;and her grandson, Gary Paul Sasser.

Survivors are her sons, Thomas Edward Sasser and his wife,Annette, and William Stephen Sasser and his wife, Gail, all ofBogue Chitto; her daughter, Nancy Sasser Fenwick and her husband,Billy, of Terry; her brothers, J.B. Wallace and Carroll Wallace,both of Bogue Chitto; her sister, Patsy Wallace, of Bogue Chitto;her grandchildren, Stan Sasser and his wife, Tara, of Ellisville,Heather Gault and her husband, Luke, of Laurel, Will Fenwick, ofAtlanta, Ga., Kelly Fenwick, of Terry, and Scott Sasser, of BogueChitto; and her great-grandchildren, Clint Sasser, Ryne Sasser, andSteven Sasser.

Felix Sisco

Mr. Sisco, 73, died July 1, 2006, at St. Dominic Hospital inJackson. He was born on March 30, 1933, to James Sisco and OllieHavis Sisco.

He was retired from Keystone. He was a member of New SalemChurch of Christ. He was also a veteran of the Army during theKorean War.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, PatriciaAnn Bowman Sisco.

Survivors are his brother, Madison “Matt” Sisco, of Brookhaven;his sisters, Clara Terrell, of Brookhaven, and Lucille Parson, ofBaton Rouge, La.; his sisters-in-law, Deloris Bowman and BeckyBowman Butler, of Brookhaven; and his brother-in-law, EarnestBowman, of Brookhaven.

Etta Mae Smith

Services for Etta Mae Smith, of Brookhaven, were 2:30 p.m.Sunday, July 2, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inEasthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, 89, died June 27, 2006, at University of TennesseeMedical Center in Knoxville, Tenn. She was born on July 4, 1916, toBen Conn and Carrie Drummond Conn.

She was retired from the position of office manager with Morganand Lindsey’s and Murphys. She was a member of Easthaven BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, HermanLeroy Smith.

Survivors are her daughter, Janice Haley and her husband,Bennie, of Brookhaven; her brothers, Hollis Conn, of Blue Ridge,Ga., and Jay B. Conn, of Indialantic, Fla.; her sister, Tommie LeeMcHale, of Missoula, Mont.; her grandaughter, Ronda Rowells and herhusband, Jerry, of Brookhaven; and her great-grandchildren, Nikkiand Ben Rowells, of Brookhaven; and a host of nieces andnephews.

James R. Smith

Services for James R. Smith, of Hazlehurst, were 3 p.m. Sunday,July 2, at Galilee M.B. Church in Hazlehurst with burial in thechurch cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Smith, 84, died June 27, 2006, in Copiah County. He was bornin Copiah County on August 12, 1921, to Meredith Taylor and CarrieHarris Taylor.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Masons.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Willie Mae Smith; hisparents; his sons, James and Lonnie Smith; his brother, SonnySmith; his sisters, Luella Dixon, Bertha Mae and Beatrice Smith;his grandchildren, Ursula N. Smith and Jamey K. Smith; and hisgreat-granddaughter, Jada Emani Bogan.

Mrs. Tyler, 68, died June 29, 2006 at University Medical Center.She was born on June 24, 1938, to Hurley Tyler and Pawline CollinsTyler.

She was a member of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church.
