Angelle Quintana Boyd

A memorial service for Angelle Quintana Boyd, of Baton Rouge,La., and a native of McComb, were 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, atAntioch Baptist Church in Monticello.

Boyd, 72, died June 27, 2006, at her residence.

She was a graduate of McComb High School. She was retired fromJ.C. Penney. She loved fishing, reading and watching movies.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and JuanitaQuintana; her brothers, Edmond, Henry and Cameron Quintana; and hersisters, Edwina East, Henrietta Barrass and Bernice McCann.

Survivors are her daughters, Jennie M. Boyd Conyers and husbandMike, of Georgetown, Ky., and Jo Nell Boyd Brister, of Baton Rouge;her sons, Michael D. Boyd and wife Phyllis, of Clinton, and Ed Boydand wife Judy, of Brookhaven; her sisters, Alma Westbrook and AnnBrumfield, both of McComb; her brother, Ben Quintana, of Meridian;her grandchildren, Nathan Boyd, Chelsea Boyd, Cameron Boyd, AllenBoyd, Eric Boyd, Callie Conyers and Cayla Conyers; and her 35nieces and nephews.

Services for Billy G. Daniel Sr., of Meadville, are 10 a.m.Monday, July 3, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMidway Cemetery.

Mr. Daniel, 70, died July 1, 2006 at Franklin Memorial Hospital.He was born on May 5, 1936, to Jessie Daniel and Verlon HardyDaniel.

He was retired from the Mississippi State Highway Department. Hewas a member of Meadville Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his daughter.

Survivors are his son, Billy Daniel Jr., of Meadville; fivegrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Davis, 74, died June 29, 2006 at his home. He was born inLawrence County on Dec. 12, 1931, to Marvin Davis and Eula MaeWalker Davis.

He was a retired oil field worker. He was a member of RuthBaptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United StatesArmy.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, AnitaClark; his sisters, Annie Mae Gunnell and Oni Faye Smith.

Alonzo ‘Lonnie’ Dunhurst

Mr. Dunhurst, 52, died June 30, 2006, at his home. He was bornin Picayune on August 21, 1953, to William Dunhurst and EmmaRussell Dunhurst.

He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Alvary UnitedPentacostal Church. He was also a veteran of the United StatesArmy.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his grandson, JoeRutland.

Jimmy ‘Jay’ M. Horn Jr.

Sgt. Jimmy “Jay” M. Horn Jr., died June 18, 2006, at Universityof California Medical Center in Orange, Calif.

Sgt. Horn, 25, was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 22, 1980. Hegraduated from Denham Springs High School in 1998. At the age of17, he joined the Marine Corps. He was assigned to the 2ndBattalion, 5th Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Aveteran of one tour of duty in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and twotours of duty in Iraq, Horn also served tours in Japan, Guam, thePhilippine Islands, Thailand and South Korea.

A military service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 30, atRiverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif. He was recognizedwith full Military Honors. A memorial service will be held at 2p.m. Sunday, July 2 at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wesson.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Gaye Miller,and his great-grandmother, Nora Mae Welter Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Megan Horn of Ladera Ranch, Calif.;his mother and stepfather, Gina and Eddie Pettis of Vicksburg; hisfather and stepmother, Jimmy and Misse Horn of Houston, Texas; hissisters, Kelli Green and Jessica Pettis, both of Vicksburg, andKortney Horn of Mamou, La.; his brother; Eddie Pettis, ofLafayette, Ind.; his nephew, Brayden Green; his nieces; Reese Greenand Elizabeth Curry; his grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller,of Wesson, and Margaret Collins, Virgie Nevels, William Horn all ofVicksburg, and Daniel Hoffpauir of Mamou; his lifelong friend BradTonquis, of Denham Springs; and numerous aunts, uncles andcousins.

She was retired from the position of office manager with Morganand Lindsey’s and Murphys. She was a member of Easthaven BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, HermanLeroy Smith.
