Man charged in woman’s death at trailer

A Wesson man charged Saturday with probation violation andquestioned in the death of a woman found at a Lincoln Countytrailer park now has been charged with murder, authoritiessaid.
Julian Williams, 33, of 1006 Stapleton Lane, was charged Mondaywith murder in the death of Rhonda Michelle Rushing Mullins, 32,whose body was discovered under a queen-sized bed in a mobile homeon Booker Avenue in Blades Trailer Park Saturday morning, saidLincoln County Sheriff Wiley Calcote.
Williams was brought in for questioning Saturday afternoon afterwitnesses said he and Mullins met at a party the night before andleft together, Calcote said.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections also requested thesheriff’s department pick him up for probation violation from apetty larceny conviction.
“Upon questioning, he revealed to us what he had done,” thesheriff said. “He indicated the cause of death was strangulation,but we’re waiting on the autopsy report to confirm it.”
Williams did not offer a motive for the alleged slaying, Calcotesaid.
“Apparently something happened to have caused this, but I don’tknow what it was. He hasn’t said,” the sheriff said.
Williams remains in jail.
Investigators are still trying to determine why the pair were atthe trailer, but witnesses reported them seeing them togetherthere, Calcote said.
Mullins’ body was found around 7:15 a.m. Saturday in thetrailer. There were no visible signs of injury, but the location ofthe body under the bed prompted investigators to treat the death asa homicide, he said.
Funeral services for Mullins are 2 p.m. today at Pleasant RidgePentecostal Church.
