Services for Gladys Lapearl Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. TheRevs. David Sellers, David Boyd, Ken Kirk and Willie Welch willofficiate.

Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 77, died Aug. 14, 2006. She was born on April 10,1929, to Clarence Albert Kyzar and Evie Herring Kyzar.

She was a homemaker. She was retired from Stahl-Urban, andBrookmanor Nursing Center and Countrybrook Living Center. She was amember of Macedonia Baptist Church.

She thoroughly enjoyed working with her flower garden andsewing.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ClaudeWillis Smith; and her sister, Jean Smith.

Survivors are her sons, Claude Ray Smith and wife Debbie, andJerry Glenn Smith and wife Sandy, all of Brookhaven; her daughter,Janice Allen and husband Ray, of Brookhaven; her grandchildren,Christie, Kim, Robin, Becky, Dan, Josh, David, Tami, Sissy andLeann; and her 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived byCletus Scroggs, of Brookhaven.

Pallbearers are Blake Wilson, Dan Allen, Joshua G. Smith, DavidAdams, Dennis Coleman, Brian Laird, Anthony Melton, Lance Lewis andJeff Ainsworth.
