Israel Lee Culver Jr.

Services for Israel Lee Culver Jr., of Wesson, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Aug. 19, at Mt. Zion 550 M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 7 until 8 p.m.

Mr. Culver, 60, died Aug. 13, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on July 12, 1946, to Israel Culver Sr. and DoraCulver.

He was retired after 32 years in the wrecker service departmentwith the Chevrolet dealership. He was a member of Mt. Zion 550 M.B.Church.

Preceding him in death was his sister, Queen Ester Williams.

Survivors are his parents; his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Culver, ofWesson; his daughters, Thomaszeen Byrd and her husband Michael, ofBrookhaven, and Rolonda Smith and her husband Michael, ofMonticello; his sons, Cedric Brewer, of Monticello, Terrance Bates,of Arlington, Texas, Willie Earl Bates Jr., and his wife Monica, ofBrookhaven, and Kelvin Bates and his wife Monica, of Arlington,Tenn.; his sisters, Lori Autman and her husband Grady, and MaryJones and her husband Sammy, all of Brookhaven; his brother, theRev. Willie Culver and his wife Mae Bell, of Brookhaven; his 11grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.

The family requests that all food and beverages be taken to thechurch.

Pearl M. Kyzar Givens

Services for Pearl M. Kyzar Givens, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.,Aug. 18, 2006, at Fair River Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. atBrookhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 17.

Mrs. Givens, 96, died Aug. 16, 2006, at the home of hergranddaughter, Susan Jones. She was born on June 3, 1910, to Reubenand Molly Parnell Kyzar.

She and her husband owned the Givens Country Store in the FairOaks Springs community. She later worked for almost 30 years atLofton’s Department Store. In addition to raising a family, she wasdeeply devoted to Fair River Baptist Church where she was a memberfor 76 years. She taught Sunday school, and was very active in theWMU and other ministries of the church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, BillKyzar, the Rev. Joseph Kyzar, Felix Kyzar, John Kyzar, and Dr.Jewell H. Kyzar; one sister, Lola Kyzar Smith; her husband, JamesAubrey Givens, and her son, Berry Reuben Givens.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Moore and her husband F.D. Moore; her daughter-in-law, Trudy Givens Wand and her husbandClifford Wand; her grandchildren, Susan Givens Jones and herhusband Jamie Jones, all of Brookhaven, Stuart Givens and his wifeJane, of Wesson, and Missy Hudspeth and her husband Greg Hudspeth,of Tupelo; and 6 great-grandchildren, Molly and Leah Frances Jones,Betsy and Berry Givens, and Jake and Ben Hudspeth. She is alsosurvived by a dear sister-in-law, Frances Nations.

Memorials may be made to the Fair River Baptist Church BuildingFund.

Hazel D. Williamson

Services for Hazel D. Williamson, of Monticello, are 3 p.m.today, Aug. 17, at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello with burialin the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is from 1 until 3 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. Williamson, 93, died Aug. 16, 2006, at Lawrence CountyNursing Home. She was born on May 20, 1913, to Jasper Davis andFannie Ballard Davis.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Churchin Monticello.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HezzieWilliamson; her daughter, Prestalene Williamson; and her brother,Kenneth Williamson.

Survivors are her daughters, Jewellene McCloud and AudineGivens, both of Monticello; her 10 grandchildren, 19great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
