Roland B Wall Jr.
Services for Roland B Wall Jr., of Clinton, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Aug. 23, at First Baptist Church in Brookhaven withburial in Easthaven Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome, and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the church.
Mr. Wall, 79, died Aug. 20, 2006, at Central Mississippi MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born on March 27, 1927, to Roland WallSr., and Annie Claire Henderson Wall.
He was retired as owner of Wall Construction Co., and Wall RealEstate. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a captainin World War II, serving in Germany, and then, a major.
He played football for Brookhaven High School, Copiah-LincolnJunior College, Ole Miss and Mississippi College. He coached peewee football for 10 years.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, in which he won the YoungMan of the Year award. He was a founding board member of BrookhavenParks and Recreation.
The great joys of his life were flying his plane, watching anOle Miss football game in Oxford, making the rounds with his Bostonterrier, Popeye, and hanging out with his grandchildren. He was anoptimist to a fault and never gave up. He was the undying championof the underdog.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Claire Newton Wall, of Clinton; his son,Roland Wall III and wife Toni, of Clinton; his daughters, LucyClaire Wall Parker and husband Tate, of Franklin, Tenn., and JennaWindmiller, of Brookhaven; his brothers, the Rev. Robert Wall andwife Elaine Burgess Wall, of Clinton, and Donald Wall and wifeBrenda, of Brookhaven; and his sister, Jean Claire Wall Cole, ofCliffside, N.C. “Gran” will sorely be missed by his grandchildren,Roland B (Roe) Wall IV, William Trevor Wall, Francie ClaireMcDonald, Catherine Claire Parker, Anna Elizabeth Parker, MaryGrace Parker and Lydia Tate Parker; his great-grandchild, AveriBrooks Wall, and expecting two more great-grandchildren, BrittanClaire Wall and Emma Jade McDonald.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brookhaven Parksand Recreation Dept., or Baptist Children’s Village.

Services for Stuart G. Williams, of Jefferson, La., are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Eddiceton Baptist Church in Meadville.Burial will be held at a later date. Franklin Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday from 10 until 11 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Williams, 38, died Aug. 18, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn in Slidell, La., on Jan. 3, 1968, to Conrad F. Williams andClara Smith Williams.
He worked with Sanitrol, of Metairie, La.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Dennis and PaulineSmith, of Meadville; his grandfather, Winford Williams, ofEddiceton community; a favorite aunt, Brenda Cothern Smith; afavorite uncle, John Allen Smith; and his cousin, CarlWilliams.
Survivors are his mother, Clara Smith Williams, of Meadville;his father and stepmother, Conrad F. and Carol Williams, of Bay St.Louis; his grandmother, Ruby Lee Williams, of the Eddicetoncommunity; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
