Gladys M. Chandler Allen

Services for Gladys M. Chandler Allen, of Bogue Chitto, are 11a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Mt. Olive Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Allen, 104, died Aug. 24, 2006, at Countrybrook LivingCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Brookhaven on Aug. 24, 1902,to Anderson Chandler and Anna Entrican Chandler.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Olive Church ofChrist and was the oldest member there. She was very active andsupportive of the church while she was able to attend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Albert S.Allen; four sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Joanette Allen.

Survivors are her sons, Bernice A. Allen and wife Lorraine, ofInterlachen, Fla., Edwin C. Allen and wife Joyce, of Brandon, andAlvin K. Allen, of Virginia Beach, Va.; her daughter Anna RuthPeets and husband Albert Ray, of Wesson; her 11 grandchildren, 15great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Willie Mae Cater

Services for Willie Mae Cater, of Meadville, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 26, at Bude Church of God with burial in the churchcemetery. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home andon Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of theservice.

Mrs. Cater, 80, died Aug. 24, 2006, at Meadville Nursing Home.She was born on Feb. 18, 1926, to William Joseph Touchstone Sr.,and Mamie Lee Touchstone.

She was a homemaker, and a great wife and mother. She was amember of Bude Church of God.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Billy Cater;her sister and her two brothers.

Survivors are her sons, Thomas Cater, of Ragley, La., and JimmyCater, of McCall Creek; her daughters, Shirley Cater Clanton, ofMeadville, and Debbie Cater Williamson, of Watson, La.; herbrothers, Homer Touchstone, of Meadville, and William Joseph “JoeJoe” Touchstone, of Liberty; her sisters, Pauline Clark and JoyceHoward, both of Lake Charles, La.; her 11 grandchildren and 12great-grandchildren.

Frank Jerome ‘Jerry’ Gullo

Graveside services for Frank Jerome “Jerry” Gullo, ofTallahassee, Fla., are 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Pleasant GroveBaptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Brookhaven Funeral Home isin charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gullo, 66, died Aug. 21, 2006, at his residence. He was bornand raised in New Orleans, La.. His parents were Frank FrancisGullo and Tennie Smith Gullo.

He graduated from the New Orleans Public School System andreceived his bachelor’s degree in forestry from Louisiana StateUniversity in Baton Rouge. He was a band student beginning inelementary school and continued through LSU where he was a memberof the Tiger Band. He earned a graduate certificate from FloridaState University School of Public Administration. He retired fromFlorida State Government where he spent 33 years serving in variouscapacities. He will be remembered for his quick wit, love of peopleand love of life.

Preceding him were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Sherry Waters Gullo, of Tallahassee; hisdaughters, Cate Shannon, of Atlanta, Ga., Sara Rabon, ofTallahassee, and Kristiana Elofson Gregg, of Weathersfield, Conn.;his brother, Randy Carter Gullo, of Tallahassee; his fivegrandchildren; his nephew, two nieces and many other relatives anddear friends.
