Easley leads Lady Bears over Cathedral

NATCHEZ — Keri Easley tripled and singled twice to direct theWest Lincoln Lady Bears to a 14-2 win over Natchez CathedralThursday night in slowpitch softball action. The Lady Bearsimproved to 7-6 on the season and are 4-0 in district play.
Contributing to the West Lincoln win was Ashley McCaffery with adouble and a pair of singles. Alexis Cook and Stephanie Smithripped a double and a single apiece. Three singles were hit byKacey Smith. Holli Smith, Hannah Knouse and Heather Huff eachsingled twice. Kelsey Bass and Meagan Neal singled.
Smith was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts and sevenwalks.
Junior varsity action
Cathedral nipped West Lincoln 5-4 in the JV game. Singling forthe Lady Bears were Julie Case, Katie Mullins, Meagan Lea and KaylaBeth Rushing.
West Lincoln entertains Bogue Chitto Thursday night for twogames. The JV contest begins at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity at6.
