Brook girls win three at Clinton

CLINTON — The Brookhaven Lady Panther slowpitch softball teamwon three games in the Clinton Invitational Tournament Saturday.Ole Brook beat St. Andrew’s 3-2, Clinton 11-10 and Moss Point6-4.

“We had a great weekend offensively and defensively,” saidBrookhaven coach Lisa Covington. “I’m proud of the girls becausethey never gave up.”

Brookhaven travels to McComb Tuesday night for district play.The junior varsity game begins at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity at6.

Katie Stewart directed Ole Brook with two doubles in the opener.Hannah Lowman, Terri Hodges, Christi Martin and Stevie Wrightsingled.

Brookhaven 11, Clinton 10

The Lady Panthers rallied from a 10-3 deficit to pull out thewin in the second game. Martin powered Ole Brook with a pair ofdoubles and a single. Wright doubled and singled.

Contributing to the Lady Panther win with three singles wasHodges. Singling twice were Lowman and Ashmore. Cary Anne Rake,Sarah Ayers, Jordan Beeson and Stewart hit safely.

Brookhaven 6, Moss Point 4

In the third contest, Martin and Ashmore led Ole Brook with adouble and a single apiece. Wright singled twice. Singling wereKarlee Martin, Lowman, Hodges, Rake, Beeson and Ayers.
