Hardy Morris McCullough

Services for Hardy Morris McCullough, of Summit, are 3 p.m.Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Jones Family Funeral Services Chapel withburial in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. The Revs. Gene Douglas andVann Windom will officiate.

Visitation is Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of theservice.

Mr. McCullough, 74, died Sept. 10, 2006, at his residence. Hewas born in Jefferson Parish, La., on Jan. 18, 1932, to Laney AltonMcCullough and Annie Bell Bates McCullough.

He was employed for 35 years with Illinois Central Gulf Railroadas a brakeman/conductor. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.He was a member of First Baptist Church of Summit. He enjoyedworking with livestock and frequenting McDonald’s in the mornings.He was well loved and will be dearly missed.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, VeraHubert.

Survivors are his wife of 36 years, Elaine StephensonMcCullough, of Summit; his sons, William “Bill” Morris McCulloughand wife Becki, of Summit, and Glynn “Buck” McCullough and wifeBelinda, of Walker, La.; his daughters, Annie Marie Reeves andhusband Jimmy, of McComb, Onetta Fulgham and husband Richie, ofSmithdale, and Carolyn Ann Dubose, of Waveland; his brothers, JamesMcCullough and wife Dianne, of McComb, Herbert McCullough and wifeCaroline, of Bogue Chitto, and Calvin McCullough and wife Renea, ofMcCall Creek; his sisters, Eva Nell Johnson, Lyvonne Breeland andhusband Harold, all of Summit, Hazel Reeves and husband Ronnie, andTera McCullough, all of McComb; his grandchildren, Abbi, Levi andMadi McCullough, Jason and Hunter McCullough, Aleacia, Brittney,Justin and Josh Reeves, Clinton, Kayla and April Nettles, SarahGreer, and Brian Dubose; his seven great-grandchildren, andnumerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Jason McCullough, Hunter McCullough, ClintonNettles, Rickie McCullough, Rex McCullough and WesleyMcCullough.

Services for Wiley Bert Sasser Sr., of Bogue Chitto, are 2 p.m.Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial inArlington Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.

Mr. Sasser, 86, died Sept. 10, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn on June 19, 1920, to Jeff Sasser and Sabrina Burt Sasser.

He was retired from Marlin Drilling Company. He was a veteran ofWorld War II. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, JosephineParsons Sasser.

Survivors are his son, Bert Sasser Jr., and wife Malissia, ofRock Hill, S.C.; his daughters, Kay Vinson, of Morgan City, La.,and Connie Joe Sasser, of Baton Rouge, La.; his brother, T.J.Sasser, of Port Neches, Texas; his grandchildren, Barry Vinson,Johnny Vinson, Jo Ann Vinson, Jonathan Sasser and Benjamin Sasser;and his 10 great-grandchildren.

Services for Wiley J. Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Tuesday,Sept. 12, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial inMacedonia Baptist Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Mr. Smith, 84, died Sept. 11, 2006, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born on Feb. 11, 1922, to Franklin Smith and HattieChandler Smith.

He was retired from his job as a United States Postal Servicetruck driver and the county. He was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, MildredNettles and his brother, Henderson Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Clara Lee Griffing Smith; his stepsons,Thomas E. “Pete” Smith and wife Joy, of Shreveport, La., and DannyG. Services for William Jerry Wilson, of Monticello, are 10 a.m.Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello withburial in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.

Mr. Wilson, 69, died Sept. 10, 2006, at Hospice Ministries. Hewas born on June 10, 1937, to William Cicero “Billy” Wilson andLucille Berry Wilson.

He was retired after 36 years with Marley Cooling Tower Company.He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of CarmelBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his father and his brother, Bobby C.Wilson.

Survivors are his mother, Lucille Berry Wilson, of Monticello;his wife, Annette King Wilson; his sons, Ricky Lee Wilson and JerryLynn Wilson, both of Monticello; his daughters, Martha CarolineWilson Bass, of Silver Creek, and Amy Suzanne Wilson Powell, ofMonticello; his brother, Berry Douglas Wilson, of Monticello; hissister, Judith Ann Yelverton, of Monticello; his eightgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
