Services for David E. Patterson II, of Wesson, are 2 p.m.Thursday, Sept. 14, at Brookhaven Funeral home with burial inMission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County.
Visitation is today from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Patterson, 67, died Sept. 12, 2006, at University MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born on Aug. 17, 1939, to David E. “Pat”Patterson and Rhoda Ward Patterson.
He was a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln High School and MississippiState University. He earned his master’s degree from Ball StateUniversity in Indiana. He was a retired lieutenant colonel with theUnited States Air Force. He began his military career as anadministration officer and retired as director of personnel. He wasa Gideon and a member of the Lions Club. As a Lion, he helpedpeople to see; as a Gideon, he provided the “Word” for people toread. He was a member of the Camellia Society of Brookhaven. He wasa member of Wesson Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his father-in-law,Walter Delancy.
Survivors are his wife, Ola Delancy Patterson, of Wesson; hisson, David E. Patterson III, of Costa Mesa, Calif.; his daughter,Rhoda Shirley and husband Dean, of Wesson; his grandchildren, RyanShirley, Rebekah Shirley and Elizabeth Shirley, all of Wesson; andhis mother-in-law, Gladys Delancy, of Wesson.
