Vanga Elizabeth Woodall

Vanga Elizabeth Woodall, 74, formerly of Gulfport, went to bewith her Lord and Savior Sept. 14, 2006. She died at her home inBogue Chitto, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, Sept. 16 atArlington Baptist Church in Lincoln County. Services will be thereat noon Saturday, with the Rev. Bob Lynch and the Rev. Keith Smithofficiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Baptist ChurchCemetery. Funeral arrangements are being coordinated by HartmanFuneral Home, McComb.

Mrs. Woodall was born March 26, 1932, in Long Beach, thedaughter of Van Lassabe and Laura Bond Lassabe. She was reared inMoss Point, where she was valedictorian of Moss Point High School.She attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she mether husband of 55 years, Robert “Woody” Woodall.

She was retired form the Gulfport Construction Battalion Center,having worked civil service with the Construction AppropriationsDepartment. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport,the Gulfport Yacht Club, the Broadwater Country Club, and theGulfport Lions Club Auxiliary. She was also active in scouts,having been a den mother for Cub Scouts and a troop leader for GirlScouts.

After retirement, she and Woody moved to Bogue Chitto (where Mr.Woodall was born and reared). She was very active in ArlingtonBaptist Church and particularly enjoyed her fellowship with thesenior group and Vacation Bible School. She also served aslibrarian at Arlington Baptist Church for 15 years.

She cherished her friendship with her church family who broughther heartfelt joy each day.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, CoraLouise Ryder.

Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Woodall, of BogueChitto; three sons, Dr. Ronald Woodall, of Hattiesburg, WayneWoodall and his wife Jeannie, of Gulfport, Dale Woodall and hiswife Sandra, of Madison; her daughter, Wanda Radcliffe and herhusband Bob, of Pensacola Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren,Lauren, Bobby, Rebecca and Andrew.
