Davis powers Wesson over Franklin County

WESSON — Ann Shelby Davis drilled a home run, a double and asingle Thursday night to lead the Wesson Lady Cobras to a 16-6 winin five innings over the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs innon-division slowpitch softball action.
“I am proud of the girls,” said Wesson softball coach RonKessler. “We’re playing for pride. We want to finish the season ona winning record.”
Wesson (8-12) led 4-1 after one inning. Franklin County (16-8_came back to take a 5-4 lead in the top of the third. The LadyCobras came back in the bottom of the third to tie the game at5-all. Wesson outscored Franklin County 11-2 over the next twoinnings for the win.
Jessica Haynes tripled and singled three times for Wesson.Stacey Lowery doubled twice. Tripling was Summer Easterling. A pairof doubles were hit by Christina Fink. Hitting safely were NikkiMcCardle, Dallas Jackson, Leah Greer and Julie Berry.
Franklin County got a home run from Latonya Williams. MoneaCameron tripled and singled. Taylor Stewart singled twice.
Wesson is at Port Gibson Monday for a doubleheader, beginning at4:30 p.m.
