Police investigate break-in

Police are investigating a break-in and theft earlier this weekat Brookhaven High School, officials said today.

A custodian reporting to work discovered a broken window in aclassroom of the Science Building before school Wednesday morningand school officials notified the police department of the break-inaround 7:50 a.m., said Detective Roger Wilson.

“The position of the window was behind a fence and beside a bigbush. You really couldn’t see it was broken from the outside,” hesaid.

There was no vandalism and no chemicals or laboratory equipmentstolen, Wilson said. However, a “small amount of money” was stolenfrom the building.

The incident is still under investigation, Wilson said.
