Services for Leonard T. Simpson, of Columbia, formerly ofBrookhaven, were 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Brookhaven FuneralHome with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Simpson, 86, died Sept. 27, 2006, in Columbia. He was bornin Bradley on Nov. 7, 1919, to Benjamin Freeman Simpson and JennieVirginia West Simpson.
He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and wasretired from Kraft Food. He was a member of Southway BaptistChurch, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was aU.S. Coast Guard veteran and served his country during World WarII.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Helen LouiseHamilton Simpson; his three brothers; and his grandson, ThomasDustin Dearstone.
Survivors are his daughters, Nancy Simpson Seals, of Columbia,and Diane Simpson Bristow and her husband, the Rev. Duane Bristow,of Bloomfield, N.M.; his grandchildren, Todd and Dawn DearstonePeters, of Amarillo, Texas, David Douglas Dearstone, of Lawrence,Kan., Joel and Neely Seals Nations, of Brookhaven, and CoreyRandall Seals, of Columbia; and his great-grandchildren, MasonStephen Peters, of Amarillo, Haley Carol Nations, Lynsey ColleenNations and Paul Randall Nations, all of Brookhaven.
