The host Brookhaven Lady Panthers won their pool Saturday intournament action at the Hansel King Sportsplex. Ole Brook beatingFranklin County 10-3, Richland 8-6 and Natchez 13-0.
The Lady Panthers, coached by Lisa Covington, improved to18-8 onthe season. Brianna Ashmore was the winning pitcher in thetournament.
Brookhaven travels to North Pike Tuesday. The junior varsitygame begins at 6 followed by the varsity at 7.
Brookhaven 10, Franklin Co. 3
In the first game, Hannah Lowman powered Ole Brook with a grandslam home run and a triple. Stevie Wright hammered a 3-run homerand singled. Tripling and singling was Katie Stewart. ChristiMartin singled twice. Hitting safely were Terri Hodges, JordanBeeson and Ashmore.
Brookhaven 8, Richland 6
Blasting a home run and a single each for the Lady Panthers wereHodges and Stewart. Wright tripled and singled twice. Doubling andsingling was Martin. Ashmore singled twice. Sarah Ayers and Martinhit safely.
Brookhaven 13, Natchez 0
The third game saw Brookhaven get a homer and two singles fromWright. Kelsey Freeman ripped a solo homer. Lowman collected 4singles. Martin finished with 3 singles followed by Hodges andAshmore with 2 singles apiece. Singling were Karlee Martin, CaryAnne Rake, Beeson and Stewart.
