Services for George Wesley Boyte, of Forest, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest, with a2:30 p.m. graveside service at Easthaven Cemetery inBrookhaven.

Visitation is today from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Boyte, 79, died Oct. 8, 2006, at Guardian Angel Hospice inRaleigh. He was a native of Brookhaven and had been a resident ofForest for 40 years.

He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He was a member ofAmerican Legion, V.F.W. and I.A.D.C. He was a Mason.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and MinnieBoyte; his sister, Sarah Vice; and his brothers, Charles P. Boyte,Billy M. Boyte, Dudley B. Boyte and James T. Boyte.

Survivors are his wife, Bettye Boyte, of Forest; his sons,George T. Boyte, of Robinsville, N.C., Otis Rodney Boyte, ofBellville, Texas, and George “Andy” Boyte, of Forest; his daughter,Carolyn K. Smith, of Brookhaven; his nine grandchildren and sevengreat-grandchildren.
