Truck stolen from downtown lot

Brookhaven Police are looking for a truck after it was stolenfrom a downtown parking lot Thursday afternoon, said Chief PapHenderson.

Henderson said the rented 2007 Chevy C-15 gray truck was stolenfrom the North Railroad Avenue parking lot around 3:30 p.m. Thechief said the renter had left the keys on the truck seat to gointo a downtown business.

“His intentions were to go in and come right back out,” saidHenderson, adding that the man became distracted and was away fromthe truck for about 15 minutes.

Henderson said local and area law enforcement agencies have beenasked to be on the lookout for the truck. Also, the vehicle hasbeen entered into the National Crime Information Center.

“Hopefully, we can find it and the person who stole it,” thechief said.
