Services for Joe Holland, of Meadville, are 10 a.m. Tuesday,Oct. 17, at Bude Church of God with burial in Byrds Chapel Cemeteryin Meadville. Bro. Boyd Beech, Bro. Paul Baker and Bro. Bruce Foxwill officiate, with eulogy given by Rhonda Holland. RiverwoodFamily Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 until 10 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Tuesday from 9 until the time of the service at thechurch.

Mr. Holland, 86, died Oct. 13, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn on April 27, 1920, to Willie Paxton Holland and Ethel GammilHolland.

He was a carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.He was a member of Bude Church of God. He was an avid outdoorsmanwho enjoyed gardening. He loved his family and his church, butabove all, he loved the Lord. He was the oldest member of hischurch choir and loved Southern gospel music.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of over 50years, Helen Hester Holland; his seven brothers, Lamar, Sidney,Stewart, Bertrum, Robert, James and Jack Holland.

Survivors are his sons, Calvin Holland and wife Hazel, ofMeadville, Marcus Holland and wife Angie, of Columbia, and KennethHolland and wife Rhonda, of Aiken, S.C.; his brothers, DonaldHolland, of Meadville, and Leslie Holland, of Liberty; his sister,Alice Calcote, of Natchez; his 10 grandchildren and eightgreat-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Joel Holland, Jonathan Holland, Brooke Holland,John Smith, Clay Duncan and Darius Foster.

Honorary pallbearers are Jamey Saucier, Preston Fugu, JesseHolland, Bryan Broome, Jimmy Edwards and Robert Scott.
