Ross looks forward to directing Co-Lin golf

WESSON – Ronny Ross of Brookhaven has been named the director ofgolf operations for Wolf Hollow Golf Course. He will oversee allaspects of Wolf Hollow including promotions, maintenance,tournaments and the pro shop. Ross will also coach Copiah-LincolnCommunity College’s golf team. Justin Smith will continue hisduties as golf pro.

“We are pleased to have Ronny back at Co-Lin,” said Co-LinPresident Dr. Howell Garner. “He was the first golf pro at WolfHollow when it opened as an 18-hole course in September of 1996.Ronny’s experience and knowledge will be a great asset to WolfHollow,”

Ross, 40, previously served as head golf professional at WolfHollow and Co-Lin’s golf coach from 1995-2001. Prior to coming backto Wolf Hollow, he served as the head golf professional and generalmanager of Brookhaven Country Club. He has also served as assistantgolf professional at Oak Harbor Golf Club in Slidell, La.

“I feel great about working with Co-Lin,” said Ross. “I’mgrateful for the opportunity. I get to do what I want to do, and Idon’t have to move my family.”

Ross is a member of the Professional Golf Association of America- Gulf States (Mississippi and Louisiana) Section. He served asvice president and tournament director for all assistant golf prosin Mississippi and Louisiana in 1994-95 and is currently vicepresident of the Mississippi Junior Golf Association. He is agraduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degreein marketing/professional golf management.

“There’s a lot of potential at Co-Lin,” said Ross. “I also getto coach the golf team.”

Ross said he wants to build a strong financial base at WolfHollow. “I have moved my merchandise up here and the pro shop looksnice.”

Ross said Co-Lin is in the initial stage of building a new clubhouse. “I know folks are excited about that.”

He will oversee the entire golf operation at Co-Lin.

Ross and his wife, the former Elizabeth Hoffman of Gretna, Laare the parents of two children: Jacob, age 11; and Olivia, 7. Theyboth graduated from Brookhaven Academy.

Ross indicted that he would continue to assist with theBrookhaven Country Club until it is sold.
