Services for Winston William Mason, of Jackson, are 11 a.m.Friday, Oct. 27, at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson with burial inLakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Boulevard.

Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the funeral home.

Mr. Mason, 85, died Oct. 23, 2006, at the Mississippi StateVeterans Home in Jackson, where he had resided for the past twomonths. He had been a resident at Trace Point Retirement Center inClinton for several years. He was born on March 12, 1921, inBrookhaven. He had many fond memories of growing up in Brookhavenand enjoyed visiting as often as possible.

He had dedicated 35 years of service as a security officer atthe Mississippi State Hospital. Mr. Mason was a member of OakForest Baptist Church

Preceding him in death were his wife, Lois Mason; his parents,Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Mason, of Brookhaven; and his grandparents, Mr.and Mrs. W. C. Mason, who were pioneer residents of the Union Hallcommunity in Lincoln County.

Survivors are his sister, Martha Mason Goble; his three nieces;and a very special friend of 10 years, Rosemary Speir, and herdaughters. Even though he did not have children of his own, he wasmuch beloved by the Speir family.
