Services for Levi Benjamin Jr., of Monticello, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Oct. 28, at St. Mark M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in Carver Heights Cemetery in Brookhaven. Williams Mortuaryis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Benjamin, 71, died Oct. 23, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on Nov. 9, 1935, to Jack Benjamin and EmilyBenjamin Gray.

He attended Alexander High School. He was retired, and had beenthe owner of Phillips “66” Service Station, and was a car mechanicat Reeve’s Service Station. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was amember of St. Paul M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wives, IrmaWashington Dillon and Irene Collins Benjamin; his daughters, CherryDillon Johnson and Lisa Benjamin Allen; his sisters, Sadie MaeBernard and Juanita Brown; and his brothers, Lee Earl Benjamin,Isiah Benjamin Sr., Melvin Benjamin and Willie Benjamin.

Survivors are his sons, James Dillon, of Brookhaven, and QuincyBenjamin and Levi Benjamin III, both of Monticello; his daughters,Vicki McGee and husband Johnell, of Maywood, Ill., Debra Calcoteand husband Louis, Camero Newton and husband Derrick, NikkiBenjamin, Marsha Dillon, Gwendolyn Dillon, and Jacquline Dillon,all of Brookhaven; his sister, Dianna Gray, of Brookhaven; his 18grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
