A Louisiana man was killed Wednesday afternoon near Wesson onInterstate 55 when his pickup truck left the road, according to anofficial.

Rhett Christiana, 32, of Marrero, La., was pronounced dead atthe scene, said Copiah County Coroner Phil Howard.

“He evidently went off the pavement on the right shoulder andwhen he pulled back on the road, he lost control and beganflipping,” Howard said.

A large traffic sign was struck when Christiana attempted topull back onto the pavement and may have contributed to the crash,the coroner said.

The crash occurred around 2:50 p.m. as Christiana was travelingsouth on I-55 about a quarter mile north of the Wesson exit in hisnew Dodge Ram SRT10 pickup, Howard said.
