Services for Syble Jean James, of Wesson, were Monday, Oct. 30,at Sardis Baptist Church, with burial in Sardis Cemetery. StringerFuneral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. James, 74, died Oct. 27, 2006, at her residence. She was anative of Jefferson Davis County.

She was retired from Bernsteins and Sons after many years ofservice. She was a member of Sardis Baptist church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Percy James; her son,Cecil James; her grandson, Robert Elkins Jr.; and granddaughter,Lynette Chamberlain.

Survivors are her daughters, Diane Brown and Sherry Brown, bothof Wesson, Virginia Smith, of Brookhaven, and Sallie Norman, ofHattiesburg; her sisters, Willie Mae Hughes, of Strong Hope, andMildred Leon, of Ft. Worth, Texas; and her 17 grandchildren and 33great-grandchildren.
