Services for Earnestine Adams, of Jacksonville, Fla., andformerly of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Mary’sTemple Church of God in Christ in Brookhaven with burial inHillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Marshall FuneralHome Chapel in Brookhaven, with wake service from 7 until 9 p.m.Viewing at the church will be on the day of the service from 9until 11 a.m.

Mrs. Adams, 74, died Nov. 22, 2006, at Cathedral Nursing Home inJacksonville. She was born in Goshen, Ala., on Sept. 19, 1932, toCharles and Emma Stokes Smith.

She was a member of Mary’s Temple Church of God in ChristMotherboard and was a 4-H group leader.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John AdamsJr.; her brother, Charles Smith Jr.; her granddaughter, TonjaSmith; and her grandson, Robert Earl Smith.

Survivors are her children, Earl Smith, Debra Bracy, LucindaPrice and Jackie Hyche; her sisters, Evengline Hockett, Nellie R.Merritt and Pearl Wilkerson; her brothers, Braxton Ray Smith, LomaxSmith, James Hubert Smith, Joe Carnell Smith and Mack Ray Smith;and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relativesand friends.

Amanda Yevette DeVaul

Services for Amanda Yevette DeVaul, of Vicksburg, are 2:30 p.m.Saturday, Dec. 2, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Kirby with burial inthe Mt. Olive/Baldwin Cemetery in Kirby. Marshall Funeral Home isin charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeral homein Bude. and on Saturday from 12:30 until the time of the serviceat the church.

Miss DeVaul, 20, died Nov. 26, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn in Natchez on Nov. 24, 1986, to Corine S. DeVaul and Larry L.Perkins.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Helen Perkins, andPutman and JoAnn Jackson Smith.

Survivors are her mother, Corine Smith DeVaul, of Vicksburg; herfather, Larry L. Perkins, of Brookhaven; her grandfather, MoyesePerkins, of Liberty; her sisters, Latasha Johnson, of Vicksburg,and Yolanda Anderson and Dianna Anderson, both of Meadville; herfour nieces; two nephews; 10 aunts, eight uncles; one great-aunt,one great-uncle and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ameal ‘Jim’ Goodwin

Services for Ameal “Jim” Goodwin, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Dec. 2 at Williams Mortuary Chapel with burial in CarverHeights Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Goodwin, 72, died Nov. 23, 2006, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. He was born on Nov. 21, 1934, to Emanuel Goodwin Sr. andMae Bell Goodwin.

He was retired.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers,Sylvester, Nora, Nathaniel, Daniel and Emanuel Jr. Goodwin; and hissisters, Cora Winston, Eva Washington, Lillie and ChristineGoodwin.

Survivors are his brother, Elder Robert Lee Goodwin, of LosAngeles, Calif.; his sisters, Lillie Mae Henley, of Brookhaven, andVirgie M. Harper, Margie Adger and Alean Williams, all of LosAngeles; his stepsisters, Celestine Eley, Christine Hayes, BettyStovall and Jewelene Buie, all of Brookhaven.
