Band with local ties gets Grammy nod

DecembeRadio, featuring New Hebron native and former Brookhavenresident Boone Daughdrill, was nominated for a Grammy AwardThursday.
The band’s album, “DecembeRadio,” was selected in the Best RockOr Rap Gospel Album category.
Daughdrill is the drummer for the band that has been togethersince 1998 and has been riding a recent wave of popularity. Inaddition to Daughdrill, band members include Josh Reedy, Brian Bunnand Eric Miker.
According to the band’s MySpace.com listing, DecembeRadio was abig hit at the 2005 Rock Summit and was named Buzz Band of theYear. Later last year, the band was cited by Billboard Magazine asone of its Faces to Watch.
Other Grammy nominees in the album category include: “Where thePast Meets Today,” Sarah Kelly; “Turn Around,” Jonny Lang; “End ofSilence,” Red; and “Bone-A-Fide,” T-Bone. The 49th Grammy Awardsare scheduled to air live on CBS on Feb. 11.
