Wesson splits with Franklin

The Franklin County Soccer Bulldogs split a doubleheader withWesson Tuesday night at the Brookhaven Sports Complex, winning theboys game 5-0. The Lady Bulldogs lost to Wesson 4-2, off athree-goal hat trick from Christina Fink of the Lady Cobras.

The Bulldogs (9-2) used a hat trick from RyanRatcliff to take a 3-0 lead. Dane Hodges and Chris Oglesby addedinsurance goals to support the Bulldogs.

Josh Dixon, Ben McDowell, and Hodges each had an assist for theBulldogs.

In the girls contest, two goals from Caroline Yarbrough weren’tenough as the Lady Bulldogs fell victim to Fink’s quick feet.Wesson and Franklin were tied at 2-apiece at halftime, before Finknetted the insuring goals for the Lady Cobras.

“It was a tough loss,” said Lady Bulldogs head coach BenYarbrough. “We hope to bounce back Friday against North Pike.”

The Bulldogs play host to North Pike Friday night at 6 for agirls-boys doubleheader at Louie Mullins Memorial Stadium inMeadville. The game will be a key district match up for bothsquads.
