Lois S. Farmer, 85, died Dec. 13, 2006, at Silver Cross Home inBrookhaven. Visitation is today, Dec. 15, 2006, from 11 a.m. until1 p.m. at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services are1 p.m., today at the funeral home chapel, with burial in theLakewood South Cemetery.
A native of Brookhaven, Mrs. Farmer spent the majority of herlife in Jackson. She was a retired employee having worked forJCPenney for a number of years. Mrs. Farmer was a faithful andlongtime member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church and taught Sundayschool for 18 years. After moving to Brookhaven, she joinedEasthaven Baptist Church where she was a devoted member and lovedher Sunday school class and was actively involved in their senioradult activities. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.Her faith in Christ was vital to her. Her favorite scripture wasProverbs 22:1: “A good name is rather to be chosen than greatriches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.”
Survivors include her son, the Rev. Jerome Carroll Farmer andwife Pat, of Poplarville; her daughter, Kathy Bethea, ofBrookhaven; her grandchildren, Justin Farmer and wife Sammi, LaceyFarmer, Jason Thomas Bethea and wife Rhiannon, William JarodBarnes; and her great-grandchildren, Jenson Barousse and MasonDouglas Henry Bethea.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Farmer, whopassed away in 1993.
