Services for Hazel Washington Sanders, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 at Bethel A.M.E. Church with burial in CarverHeights Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 7 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. Sanders, 61, died Dec. 30, 2006, at CountryBrook LivingCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on April 7, 1945, to SamWashington and Edith Washington.

She worked at Mamie Martin School for many years until shebecame disabled. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers SamWashington Jr. and Charles Herman Washington; and a sister IrmaDillon Benjamin.

Survivors are her husband, Otis Sanders, of Brookhaven; threesons, Bruce Sanders, of Brookhaven, Brian Keith Sanders and hiswife, Patricia, of Ft. Campbell, Texas, and Kenneth DewayneSanders, of Ft. Campbell; a daughter, Cassandra Chism and herhusband, Chester Chism, of Brookhaven; a sister, Peggy Knox, ofChicago, Ill.; two brothers, Willie Terry Washington, of Dallas,Texas, and Jimmy Washington, of Brookhaven; nine grandchildren; anda host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
