Carmella Baughman

Graveside services for Carmella Baughman, 76, are 2 p.m. Monday,Jan. 15, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Baughman died Dec. 31, 2006, in Michigan, where she hadlived for the past two years with her older children. She was bornin Detroit, Mich., on Aug. 27, 1930. She moved to Mississippi in1976 with her third husband, Levy Baughman. She was a member ofEasthaven Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and onebrother.

Survivors are her nine children and a host of grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren, other family members and friends.

James Curtis Cothren

Services for James Curtis Cothren, of Meadville, were 11 a.m.today, Jan. 12, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville withburial in Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Cothren, 60, died Jan. 10, 2007, at G.V. “Sonny” MontgomeryVA Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Centreville on Nov.12, 1946, to Percy R. Cothren Sr. and Hazel Anders Cothren.

He worked with the U.S. Forest Service and with Franklin County.He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Preceding him in death were his father; a brother, Percy R.Cothren Jr.; and a sister, Brenda C. Smith.

Survivors are his mother, Hazel Anders Cothren, of Meadville;his brother, Alan Cothren, of Meadville; his sisters, OlveyFreeman, of Meadville, and Sherry Cothren, of Madison; and his manynieces and nephews.

Marshall ‘Cowboy’ Miller

Services for Marshall “Cowboy” Miller, of Crosby, are at noon onSaturday, Jan. 13, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness inCentreville with burial in Freewood Cemetery in the Freewoodcommunity near Knoxville. Marshall Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeralhome in Bude, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of theservice at the church.

Mr. Miller, 92, died Jan. 7, 2007, at Lady of the Lake Hospitalin Baton Rouge, La. He was born in Knoxville on Aug. 27, 1914, toHorace Miller and Media Daisy Gibson Miller.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two daughters; one son;two grandsons and 13 siblings.

Survivors are his devoted wife, Flora Wilson Miller; hisdaughter, Eddice West, of Carson, Calif.; his sons, Glenn Miller,of Detroit, Mich., and Marshall “Pete” Miller Jr., of Baton Rouge;his brother, Jessie Miller Sr., of Gloster; his five grandchildren,nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a hostof nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Melvin Gordon O’Neal

Services for Melvin Gordon O’Neal, of Natchez, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Jan. 13, at Community Chapel Church of God in Natchezwith burial in Union Church Cemetery. Laird Funeral Home in Natchezis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Laird Funeral HomeUnion Street Chapel in Natchez and on Saturday at the church from 1p.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. O’Neal, 49, died Jan. 10, 2007, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter. He was born in Natchez on April 5, 1957, to George and LelaLee Moore O’Neal.

Survivors are his wife, Martha O’Neal, of Natchez; his parents,George and Jennie O’Neal, of Junction City, Kan.; his brothers,David K. O’Neal and George O’Neal Jr., both of Junction City; andhis grandmother, Stella Moore, of Union Church.

Kollin Ross Smith

A private graveside service for Kollin Ross Smith, was held forfamily on Thursday, Jan. 11, at Pleasant Hill Baptist ChurchCemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge ofarrangements.

Infant Smith died Jan. 7, 2007, at the University Medical Centerin Jackson.

Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Pat Malone, and hisaunt, Cala Malone.

Survivors are his parents, Kyrk Smith and Missy Smith, of BogueChitto; his twin brother, Karter Dane Smith and his brother, SawyerWallace, both of Bogue Chitto; his sister, Shelby Wallace, of BogueChitto; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth E. and Dot Smith, ofBogue Chitto; his maternal grandparents, Ken and Betty Lofton, ofBogue Chitto; his great-grandmothers, Joyce Smith, of Brookhaven,and Louise Lofton, of Smithdale; and a host of aunts anduncles.

Bessie Lee ‘Big Mama’ Thomas

Services for Bessie Lee “Big Mama” Thomas, of Los Angeles,Calif., are 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Tyler Funeral Home withburial in Cool Spring M.B. Church Cemetery in McCall Creek.

Mrs. Thomas, 72, died Jan. 8, 2007, at Martin Luther KingMedical Center in Los Angeles. She was born on July 12, 1934, toJoe White and Sarah Costley White.

She was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter, RuthHelen Dunn Bunton; her brothers, Leroy, Julius and Edward; and hersister, Mary Kelly.

Survivors are her son, James Thomas, of Denver, Colo.; herdaughter, Sara Lee Thomas, of Los Angeles; her brother, Joe WillieWhite, of Denver; her sisters, Velma Jenkins, of Los Angeles, andRuby Lee Thomas, of Lucien, and her nine grandchildren and 18great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren.

Royce Watson

Memorial services for Royce Watson, of McCall Creek, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Jan. 13, at Eddiceton Baptist Church. Community FuneralServices is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from noon until the time of the serviceat the church.

Mr. Watson, 71, died Jan. 10, 2007, at NorthShore RegionalMedical Center in Slidell, La. He was born on Jan. 2, 1936, to JohnMartin Watson and Lenell Watson.

He was a retired oil field supervisor.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his son, Keith Watson, of McCall Creek; hisdaughter, Erica Warner, of McCall Creek; his sister Dottie Roberts,of McCall Creek; and his grandchildren, Andrew Chase Warner, HaydenWarner and April Watson.
